“Children who felt they had a lot of help from their secondary school to settle in were more likely to have a successful transition” Evangelou et.al (2008) DCSF research report RR019
Most schools now have a range of transfer and
transition strategies in place yet nearly 40 per cent of
pupils continue to make a loss or no progress in the
year following transfer. So what are the best ways to
aid a successful transitions? And how can you develop
your strategies, to help those most at risk of falling
behind, becoming disengaged and even ‘dropping
out’ completely?
You will gain practical solutions on how
to advance your current initiatives as well as gaining fresh
ideas to ensure a smooth transfer to your school.
